CoolingAir conditioning systems:Oaks will help you keep your cool on those hot humid summer days: Living in the North Country, one might question anyone needing air conditioning. But when its 90+ degrees I don't care where you live, hot is hot. If you are considering a new air conditioner, there are new government ratings taking effect. Starting in January 2006 the standards for residential central conditioners changed from 10 SEER to 13 SEER. The new standard provides a 30% improvement in energy efficiency compared to previous standards. According to the Department of Energy, in the 25-year period after the new standards become effective, the nation will save the equivalent of all the energy consumed by nearly 18 million American households in a single year, and these savings would significantly reduce the emissions of air pollutants and green house gasses associated with the production of electricity. Comfortmaker brand air conditioners are among the first product lines designed around a 13 SEER minimum with the introduction of the new 14 SEER air conditioners this year.
